Hello, small business owners and those who support them! It’s time to pull up your socks and get ready because the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is rolling out the red carpet for Small Business Week. They’ve got a smorgasbord of resources, webinars, and virtual events designed to help your business avoid scams and online threats. It’s like a buffet, but for your business’s safety!
Why Should You Care?
If you’re running a small business or just love giving them your support (and who doesn’t?), the FTC’s got some juicy nuggets of wisdom you won’t want to miss. They’re dishing out free resources and expert advice faster than you can say “cybersecurity.”
What’s on the Menu?
The FTC has lined up a series of virtual events that are more packed than your favorite diner on a Sunday morning.
National Small Business Week Virtual Summit: Happening on May 5th and 6th from 11 AM to 6 PM ET. Swing by the FTC booth at the Small Business Administration’s Virtual Summit and gobble up all the free resources you can find.
Building Your Small Business Cybersecurity Team: On May 5th at 2 PM ET, join the FTC and the National Institute for Standards and Technology. They’ll show you how to assemble a cybersecurity team that’s as slick as a well-oiled machine, whether it’s in-house or outsourced.
Small Business, Big Target: How to Avoid Small Business Scams: On May 6th at 2 PM ET, learn about the pesky scams trying to sneak into your business. The FTC, National Cybersecurity Alliance, and Michigan Small Business Development Center will arm you with the knowledge to fight back.
Librarians: Helping Small Business Patrons Avoid Scams: Calling all librarians! On May 7th at 1 PM ET, the FTC and the Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services will show you how to protect small business owners from scams.
